Today is Anti-Bullying Day across Canada, and it's a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe and valued. 💙 We see the lasting impact bullying can have on young people – but we also see their incredible resilience when they have support around them.
Bullying changes how kids… see themselves and their place in the world. When children feel isolated or afraid, it affects everything – their friendships, their learning, even how they show up at home. But when they know there are trusted adults ready to listen and help, everything shifts.
If you know a young person who's struggling, remind them that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. We can build communities where every child feels like they belong.

This week our team had the privilege of attending the ANCFSAO Indigenous Child & Family Wellbeing Conference 2025: Seeds of Tomorrow. The conference brought together Indigenous Child and Family Wellbeing practitioners, leadership and community members to advance the field through meaningful …knowledge-sharing and collaboration. We were so grateful to attend.
The sessions provided invaluable insights into the latest best practices in Indigenous Child and Family services, including capacity-building strategies, practice-based innovations, critical updates on settlement agreements, and pathways for advancing First Nations sovereignty. What we learned reinforces our commitment to culturally responsive care and deepens our partnerships with Indigenous communities.
Events like Seeds of Tomorrow remind us that supporting Indigenous families requires ongoing education, collaboration and respect for traditional knowledge. We're grateful for the opportunity to learn from elders and knowledge holders dedicated to this essential work 🧡

This month we're excited to feature Carrie, our Director of Service, in our leadership series. ✨
Carrie brings both heart and strategy to her role, leading with intentionality within our "Family First" framework. What drives her every day? The incredible team she works …alongside and the deep commitment they all share to supporting children, youth and families.
"I feel so fortunate to be working alongside individuals who go above and beyond and demonstrate compassion and commitment to the work," Carrie shared. "I have the privilege of working with an amazing group of humans at H-P CAS, who show up with their heart every single day."
With an honest commitment to equity and inclusion, Carrie emphasized her dedication to "practicing cultural humility and challenging bias to create a space that is inclusive and respectful of everyone" – recognizing how deeply inequities can shape experiences within the child welfare system.
When she's not guiding our teams, you'll find Carrie spending quality time with her family and friends or staying active by hiking in the woods, kayaking, playing in curling and pickleball leagues.
Her vision for our community – where all children, youth and families have the supports they need to thrive – helps shape our work every single day. 💚

The right to safety, to be loved, to have their voice heard, to grow up free from harm – these aren't just ideals, they're the foundation of everything we do, and on Human Rights Day we reflect on how much they truly matter to the children and youth we serve.
When we protect one… child's rights, we strengthen the fabric of our entire community.
