Today we remember the six lives lost on January 29, 2017: Ibrahima Barry, Mamadou Tanou Barry, Khaled Belkacemi, Abdelkrim Hassane, Azzedine Soufiane and Aboubaker Thabti.
They were fathers, husbands, sons and beloved community members whose lives were cut short by hatred and violence. …
Their memory calls us to action – to stand against Islamophobia, to protect our Muslim neighbours and to build communities where everyone can worship safely.

Learning together doesn't have to be complicated – some of the best opportunities happen around the dinner table!
This year's theme for Family Literacy Day is "Make mealtime family learning time", reminding us that everyday activities create amazing opportunities for …connection and growth.
Reading recipes together, making grocery lists, sharing stories over meals – these simple moments build literacy skills and strengthen family bonds. Every conversation, every question asked and every story shared at the table matters.
Learning is made richer when families do it together.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause to remember and honour the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust, along with the millions of others who suffered under Nazi persecution.
Their stories must never be forgotten. Their memory demands action from all of us – to …stand firmly against antisemitism, to support our Jewish neighbours and to recognize hatred in all its forms before it takes root.
We light memorial candles in their honour, carrying forward their light against the darkness of prejudice and persecution. Remembrance is our responsibility, and vigilance is our commitment.
We must never forget.
