Christmas Bureau

2021 Huron County Christmas Bureau

The Huron County Christmas Bureau is a community service since 1967 in partnership with the host churches and our sponsors.

The Christmas Bureau has grown and transformed to meet the needs of families and this year is no exception.  We have been working diligently to develop a plan that continues to help families while keeping everyone safe. COVID-19 has changed the landscape and many people’s circumstances have changed.  As a result, the support needed in the community has changed as well.  The Christmas Bureau is planning on meeting that need and we need your help.  We ask that if you are able, to please donate financially to the Christmas Bureau.  The money will help us respond to the changing needs created by the pandemic.

All donations of $20 or more are issued charitable tax receipts.  This program is funded entirely by donations and supported by volunteers.

Credit card donations will be accepted by contacting the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society at 519-524-7356 or 1-800-265-5198.

Individual bureaus will be open November 29 to December 3, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be accepting financial donations.

To register for an appointment at one of the 5 individual bureaus, please call “Christmas Central” at 519-524-7356 ext. 3271.  Phone lines will be open from November 15 through to December 3rd, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  If the phone line is busy, do not get discouraged – please call back!  The volunteers cannot return your call.

When you call “Christmas Central” you will be scheduled a private and confidential appointment at your closest bureau site.  To be eligible for support with the Huron County Christmas Bureau program you must have custody of your child(ren) and live in Huron County.

The bureaus cannot register you for service – you must call “Christmas Central” to make an appointment.

Ontario Dress Purple Day

Ontario Dress Purple Day

Every October, Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign. The campaign is more important than ever, since the COVID-19 pandemic has created additional stressors for families, and in some cases has increased risk for the well-being and safety of children and youth.

This year, Dress Purple Day will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

We are calling on all Ontarians to wear something purple to show children, youth, and families that they are here to help!

Fundraising and Donations

Fundraising and Donations

Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society volunteers and committed sponsors provide valuable support to the our most vulnerable citizens, the children. Their efforts help low-income families over the Christmas Holiday Season, assist with recreation for children and summer activities.

Thanks to volunteer support, administrative costs are minimal. All donations to the “Family Assistance Fund”  are stipulated to provide direct benefit to children.

  • All donations, be they big or small, are valued
  • All donors who contribute $10 or more are issued charitable tax receipts.

Credit card donations can be made by calling 519-271-5290 ext. 2235 or 1-800-668-5094 ext. 2235

Your donation or Bequest to the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society will help fund a range of programs that aim to prevent abuse and neglect, and promote the healthy development of disadvantaged children.

These programs, which are operated by service partners in the community as well as by the CAS do not receive money under our core funding from the Ontario Government.
