Purple Ribbon Campaign

Purple Ribbon Campaign

The Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign aims to raise awareness among the general public, professionals, partners and the media about our collective responsibility for the safety and well-being of children and families in our communities.

Every October, OACAS and Children’s Aid Societies raise awareness about how to identify and help prevent child abuse. One of the campaign’s key goals is to educate communities and key partners about how calling a Children’s Aid Society is one of the most effective ways to prevent child abuse. As part of this campaign OACAS and member CASs work closely with school boards, schools, and community partners on a provincial “GO PURPLE DAY.”

The Purple Ribbon Campaign was established in 1992 and is a province-wide public awareness program for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Each of us has a responsibility for the well-being of children. Wearing a purple ribbon challenges everyone to become more aware of the devastating effects of abuse and neglect, and reminds us that we have a role to play in abuse prevention. SPEAK UP FOR KIDS!

Fundraising and Donations

Fundraising and Donations

Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society volunteers and committed sponsors provide valuable support to the our most vulnerable citizens, the children. Their efforts help low-income families over the Christmas Holiday Season, assist with recreation for children and summer activities.

Thanks to volunteer support, administrative costs are minimal. All donations to the “Family Assistance Fund”  are stipulated to provide direct benefit to children.

  • All donations, be they big or small, are valued
  • All donors who contribute $10 or more are issued charitable tax receipts.

Credit card donations can be made by calling 519-271-5290 ext. 2235 or 1-800-668-5094 ext. 2235

Your donation or Bequest to the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society will help fund a range of programs that aim to prevent abuse and neglect, and promote the healthy development of disadvantaged children.

These programs, which are operated by service partners in the community as well as by the CAS do not receive money under our core funding from the Ontario Government.
