Get to know the PATHways Program a little deeper.
It stands for Person-Driven, Appropriate Services, Trauma Informed, Holistic Approach. But what does that actually mean for families?
It means starting with what each person needs, not what we think they should need. Using …evidence-based services that actually work, recognizing that trauma affects everything, and looking at the whole picture, not just one piece, to best support our most vulnerable children and youth.

Today, we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by acknowledging the harmful legacy of child welfare in Indigenous communities.
The impact of residential schools and discriminatory practices continues to affect First Nations, Inuit and Métis families, and we are committed …to meaningful change through the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action — reducing the number of Indigenous children in care, respecting customary care practices and working in partnership with Indigenous communities.
This work requires ongoing accountability, learning and action as we move forward together in the spirit of reconciliation.
